easiest engine swap?
This may be posted somewhere and I seem to remember asking before but can`t find it. I`ve got a 83 chevy C-10 with a 305/700R4. What is the easiest upgrade for late model stuff? TBI? Vortec? GEN III 4.8,5.3,6.0? My truck runs great and has ok power but I want better economy and more power wouldn`t hurt either.

Re: easiest engine swap?
Yea I totally agree or a vortec swap would work as well. TBIs are great they run forever and have decent power just not so good on gas. Depends on your budget as well big price differences all the way around. Good luck! Posted via Mobile Device

Re: easiest engine swap?
I think that would be the biggest decision maker.

Re: easiest engine swap?
I know a guy who is very good friends with another guy that owns a auto salvage yard and can get me a good deal on the motor/trans. I`m not planning any mods so as ong as the stock manifolds and oil pan will clear the chassis it looks like the biggest cost other than the engine and trans is having the harness rewired and programed. I`m hoping to be able to start on this next year so it`ll be a while but i was just curious what the easiest swap was.

Re: easiest engine swap?
any late model vortec seems to fit well in the square because of how roomy the engine bay. i'm planing on a 6.0 swap in the future, but it will be a while as i just graduated.

Re: easiest engine swap?
I did a 06 6.0 on my dually I've never done a motor swap before then an it was super easy I would highly recommend doing it
