Help on a Sagimaw Three Speed Manual.
My doner truck has a Saginaw manual transmission and I am having trouble identifying it. The side cover has seven bolts and the numbers are: GM 20, 3852845 and input shaft has 10 splines. It also has an electrical connector on the bottom of the rear shifter linkage. The case has GM 23 8925647. The tail shaft has 328658 GM 31 and the shaft has 27 Splines. Any information would be great but I really want to know if it is a first gear syncromesh?

T2vigil:
If the side cover is a seven bolt, then yes first gear is syncronized. The transmissions with the 4 bolt side covers were unsychronized in first. Regards, Steve New Orleans |

Re: Help on a Sagimaw Three Speed Manual.
Thanks Steve. I could not find anything that says that all seven bolt side covers were syncronized first.
