HEY CHEVY FREAKS. JUST CURIOUS IF ANYONE WOULD MIND POSTING PICS OF SOME OF YOUR FIREWALLS AFTER YOU GOT EM CLEANED UP, SHAVED, PAINTED, ETC......JUST KINDA COLLECTING IDEAS FOR WHEN I PULL THE CAB OFF MY 72.

XXL, does your bevel favor the front or the back. I was wanting to fill that channel as well, but would like to see how you did yours if possible....

mine is not as fancy as the others posted, but if you are going low buck, get a wire wheel and some elbow greese...and a few rattle cans

I just cleaned mine up with a bit of 80 grit then some 320 grit and voila

XXL the cowl is welded up. This project stopped being practical a long time ago. No wipers.........I will rely on Rain X.

xxl, sorry for the unclear question. You answered what I was looking for. I was just curious as to which way you slopped the filler. Toward the cab or away from the cab. I know it is still rough, but if you could get a pic of that I would really appreciate it. I hope to work on my firewall this weekend.

I take it from some of the above pictures of the completely filled smooth firewalls that these are only show/extremely limited use trucks? I don't think I could do without AC here in the south on a driver. Good looking firewalls though - just not too practical.
