k5 Grill Conversion
What would all be needed to do a grill and headlight swap into my 79?

Re: k5 Grill Conversion
Thanks for all your valuable input rayfinseats. If you follow his build you might find he is pretty handy with tools for his age. What he needs is information, not wise crack responses.
What year K5 are you wanting to convert to? If your talking about the 88-91 Blazer, or Burb front end you will need the entire front clip including care support.

Too bad your up north bc I am going the opposite way you are. I am converting my 82/85 hybrid frontend for a 73-79 front end.

Re: k5 Grill Conversion
Its really close to a bolt on swap. The only real "big deal" is the rear hood hinges. You have to cut slots in the cowl for the hinges to fall down into.

Re: k5 Grill Conversion
Interesting, couldn't I use a hood from the Burb?

Re: k5 Grill Conversion
you will need the suburban hood, the issue is your hinge's bolt to your fender's, the later modle hinge's come out of the cowl. it will take some cut'n and weld'n. can be done just more work go'n this way compare'd to put'n the old style clip on a late modle truck
