Question new user/member with a few questions-71

Hi everybody, I bought a project from a guy a couple of weeks ago and have
been putting things together. Some successful, some not. Does anyone have a picture they would post of the back of the gas pedal assembly for the 71/72's. I bought the spring and pin but really don't see how it would work. I have a feeling the guy cut the rod and was planning on a custom set up. Or I am delerious from the heat in Texas and am just not seeing it. Also, he had the Blazer gas tank mod laying in the bed so I installed that, he had a flexible fuel line strung back there but no fuel filter anywhere. What is the best place for one to be installed? Closer to the tank, or engine? It has a 350/TH350. Thanks to anyone willing to throw some advice or suggestions my way.

Wyoziff,

I have one of the pedal assemblies but what I have is a rod, inside bracket and outside bracket. I didnt know it needed a spring or pin, where do they go?

As far as the filter, you can put it just about anywhere but I would put it somewhere that is very easy to get to, frame rail front or rear. are you using the stock mechanical fuel pump or an electric pump?

Hey Clyde, my pedal, which is the small one for the 71/72's as opposed to the bigger ones ones from previous years that have a floor attachment stud are supposed to be suspended so to speak above the floor but attached somehow to the rod assembly. I can't see how it attaches with the two pieces I got from LMC. No instructions or tech support. I'm thinking the rod might have to have a hole drilled through it to accomodate that pin and spring. Does that rod you have kind of taper to a flat end or does it have a hole through it somewhere near the end of it (end which is towards the floor board)?
