HPTuner Information Repository

So recently I bought the HPTuner software and began learning how to tune my engine. Seeing how popular the LSx swap is becoming I thought it'd be nice to have a repository of tuning info here. since I haven't really become an authority on this, I figured I'll just post links to some threads that I've used to find some of the info I need.

Before I start linking stuff I guess I'll throw in the disclaimer: I didn't generate any of the info in any of these links. I make no claims that the things they suggest won't destroy your engine or leave your truck burning next to the freeway after you follow their advice. CHANGING THE WRONG SETTING WILL BREAK THINGS VERY QUICKLY. KNOW WHAT YOU ARE DOING BEFORE YOU DO IT!!! The first and most important piece of advice I can give is make sure what you are doing is safe for you and your truck.

Some of this info is outdated. I'll add info as I find it, since I'm still in the process of learning. I've found a lot of info that points to settings and things that don't exist in the current version of HPTuner.

Re: HPTuner Information Repository

Found another thread last night with good starter info.

You folks are welcome to throw your links and info in. Hptuners has a steep learning curve, so the more info we get in one place the better. Once i get more links and info I'll categorize them like thealiens ls swap faq thread.

Re: HPTuner Information Repository

One major thing to remember when tuning a vehicle for the first time or using a new software to tune is to only change one parameter at a time. Change one thing, try it out. This is good because you can easily change that one thing back AND you will be able to know exactly what changing that parameter did or didn't do for you.

Always save and label tunes accordingly. If you feel like getting crazy, save your current tune so when you get so far into trying to fix or debug a section of your tune and you think you made it worse, you can always go back to your base point.
