Tailgates for sale

I have two tailgates for sale.

The first one is a Chevy gate that came with my '68 when I bought it. Very nice condition, does have a couple minor dents and some small drilled holes, but would be easily fixable. Also, the tailgate handle looks crooked to me, don't know why. I never has this mounted on the truck.

More pics: http://s66.photobucket.com/albums/h2...vy%20Tailgate/

$250 + shipping.

The second gate is a GMC off a '70. It is in well-used condition but would work great if you don't have a gate. The major flaws are two dents in the top of the gate, and a dent in the GMC on the back. It doesn't look like it is bowed that bad, just has the dents from something being dropped on it.

More pics: http://s66.photobucket.com/albums/h2...10/GMC%20gate/

$100 + shipping on this one, OR I will trade it for a Chevy gate in similar condition for my '68.

If you don't like the price, make me an offer.

Thanks.

Re: Tailgates for sale

Is there a bow in the chevy gate? Are the dents all on the inside of the gate?
Would you take $200 shipped to 66067?

Re: Tailgates for sale

I have a Chevrolet gate that is similar condition to the GMC one (maybe even slightly better) that I would trade with you. I live in Indiana....Any idea what the shipping would cost us on a swap like that?

I've always thought it would be nice to have a "switch out" gate to haul some stuff so you don't risk messing up a good one.

Let me see what shipping would be, and I'll get back to you. Greyhound OK?

I have it at my house, let me get some more pics as well.

Re: Tailgates for sale

My bathroom scale is weighing the tailgates at about 45 pounds. Add a little for packaging, and some +/- for scale accuracy, and call it 50 pounds.

So, for quotes: 50 pounds, shipped from Bakersfield, CA 93312.

We do have a Greyhound here that I can ship freight from.

There is no real bow to it. There are two "waves" in it that are maybe a couple inches long and 1/16" deep, but they're really not noticeable if you're just looking at it.

Pretty much everything I can see that is an issue is on the inside of the gate.

I did notice that the handle scrapes the trim piece when you woild open the gate, so the handle definitely is crooked.

Well I figured it may be in that range. Thats a bit more than its worth to me considering that close to the value of the tailgate itself. Thanks for checking.

I can't quite do 225, it's going to be 40 bucks to ship the thing. I could do $250 shipped.

Re: Tailgates for sale

Sorry, haven't been able to get on the forum for a couple days.

The two very slight "wave" dents:

One is 1/16" deep and the other may be 1/8" deep at most.
