Re: omg what have i done
the best thing you can do is find a chilton hines manuel for overdrive transmissions overhaul booklet. kinda hard to explain how on the forum without pics,
why are you putting a pump kit in in the first place and nothing else?

Re: omg what have i done
A ford from the same year treated the same way would be in worse shape and be harder to fix. That said, I've never worked with a 200-4r before, so I can't help you.

Re: omg what have i done
ok had to replace pump because trans had no fluid pumping thru lines.however before i discovered i had no fluid pressure i had taken the pan off to install the bowtieoverdrive kits in my trans....since there was absolutely no signs of wear(i.e. no metal in fluid, fluid was bright red, no film on inside of trans from burnt clutches) i decided that maybe i only need pump...after tear down of pump i found both rings, guide, rotor, and what ever that other piece is were all broken....which leads me to believe either i or previous owner of truck jammed the pump...well now with the new 13 vane conversion my trans is ready to be reinstalled yet again...maybe it will finally move.......now as to my opinion on fords...i own the following toys each for their own specific purposes....a 99 cherokee sportin 21.5 inches of lift runnin stock motor trans and t-case, dana hi-pinion 44 front, and dana 60 rear, warn m8000, custom 5' long 3 link, coiled all the way round, 40" boggers on 15x8 wagon wheels and full exo, full hydro steer....next is my 78 ford bronco 400,c-6,205 t-case, 4" body lift, 6" suspension lift,5.5" suspension drop, smitty built xrc10000, 11.2x24 interco farm cheif tractor tires(43.6" tall), locked dana 60 rear, dana hi-pinion 44, full hydro steer.....then theres my zoom zoom....1972 datsun 240z, 1975 L28 block, stage 2 camshaft kit, triple weber 40doce carbs, 74 datsun truck 5-speed, r-200 rear dif, motor sports roll cage and header, 2 stage flow with 4" resonator.....the 76 swb gmc is the newest addition, 350,200-4r with bowtie overdrive electronics, 2010 nissan titan exhaust, no interior yet hehe no floors either....hopefully i can turn it into a nice little street toy, and make a little money out of it.....thanks for all the responses
