No Start, power but no click

I have full power. Everything looks good but nothing happens when I go to turn it over. The battery is brand new. I want to test the starter by jumping the solenoid but I'm having big trouble accessing the small post or purple wire. From the top all I see is the main post and 3 small wires to the right and I can not see the purple wire post. I can see the other small post that is farthest from the engine but not the closest one. It's a 454. Does anyone have any tricks or tips to access the purple post or how to test solenoid?

I'm gonna skip testing the starter until I test a few other things. I want to test the neutral safety switch and the ignition switch with a volt meter. Can anyone help me with which wires to test?

The easiest way I've found to test the neutral safety switch is to put it in park and push the shifter a little further, don't force it, but push it a little and then try starting it.

Re: No Start, power but no click

I tested the starter. It works just fine. I ran voltage test on all the starter wires and it turns out the small purple wire on the post closest to the engine is not getting any voltage when I turn the switch.

I want to test the neutral safety switch but I do not know where it is. Can anyone help?

Re: No Start, power but no click

Found the neutral safety switch (if anyone is wondering it is a white plastic piece on top of the steering column near the floor. With two wires coming out of it. I removed the wires and tested the switch for connectivity... it only works in reverse. At this point should I just replace it or adjust it? Also it's VERY hard to reach and access. How do I replace it?

Yeah, it's a tight fit. I my self have still not adjusted mine, but you can either try pulling the whole column out or just work with the tight space. I'm not 100% about removing the column though.
