new track results!
Ran it Friday night, wind was 10-15 out of the north, track due east. And since this was the first TNT of the year, track was full! So I was only able to make two runs, and did no tweaking, jetting or anything.
First run: R/T 0.785 60ft 1.89 330ft 5.41 1/8 ET 8.41 1/8 MPH 81.38 1/4 13.27 MPH 98.87 Second run: R/T 0.658 60ft 1.84 330 ft 5.37 1/8 ET 8.36 1/8 MPH 81.53 1/4 13.21 MPH 99.09 carb is still jetted 73/73's, timing at 38 total, 27.2" ET streets, 3000 stall,and shift at 6000-6100. so not quite the 12's I was hoping, but it was cold (40's) and not alot of traction. So I hope with a sunny decent track and some tune time, I can squeeze a low 12 out of it. Jast sharing the run.... |

Sounds good! What size ET Streets are you running and how do you like them?

Sounds awesome to me. Refresh my memory on how that compares to your old engine!

Gettin close! Some suggestions for power: Underdrive pulleys, not radical, but slightly slow your accessories. The other is MANDATORY. Cold air induction. Get you one of those aftermarket dual snorkel ram-air air cleaners. I know, they are expensive, but worth it. My GM cowl air cleaner and a Moroso underdrive pulley dropped my car from 13.10 to 12.80s. The 60' time is excellent, but MPH at the end seems a little low for that 406. Should pcik up as you get a few more miles on it I would think.
Still can't email your, stupid SPAM filter.

Tire are a 28x11.50 ET Streets, love them!
The 383 ran a 13.56 and was tuned as best I could get....this one, timing curve hasn't been done, or the carb, it's right out of the box and floats set. Still has 73/73 jets' as the other Holley had 78/82's...but since this is an HP carb, will have to play with it more. Mike, I have the deep groove pullies, but may have to try the ram air setup...sound interesting. You should also be able to email me now, as we've taken the filter off my emails coming in....try it when you have time. |

Hey Tracy, have you port-matched the intake and heads yet? It seems to be one of the easiest things to do for a horsepower gain, all you need is a die grinder.
