Engine and Trans Break in
I have a question about putting my new engine and rebuilt trans back in. I have to break in the cam, will the trans be ok as long as i fill the torque converter and rebuilt trans, while i break in the cam. Then after the cam break in go through all the gears and fill up the trans.
Thanks Eagle

break in
hell no......you must fill the trans up with at least 8 qts. of fluid
before you start it up and follow break-in instructions with cam or if new engine i think 2000 rpm for 20 min.mean while doing that fill the trans up to correct level... checking for water and other leaks oil etc...do this with car out of garage as it will more than likely smoke a little or a lot....burning off paint oil etc... mark..... |
