CST option on a 72 Blazer?

I just picked up a 72 all original 72 Blazer with CST emblems. I thought 70 was the last year of the CST badging. This is a one owner truck with original paint and they appear to original. Any info on this would be great! thanks

Re: CST option on a 72 Blazer?

I owned an original 72 CST Blazer purchased from the original owner back in 1983. The badging was on the doors and the glovebox door. He used it solely for getting to his cabin and fishing trips so I doubt he stuck the badges on it just to make it look like something it wasn't. CST's usually had full carpeting, rear side panel upholstery, chrome bumpers, side trim and interior door panel trim, but not necessarily tilt columns, tach dashes, or AC. Yours sounds like an original CST to me.

I just bought another 72 with CST badging, but I'm not sure if it was original because the Blazer was a frame up restoration by someone else. Does anybody know if the VIN depicts a CST or not?

Yes, the CST option was available on blazers through 72.
The vin won't tell you if it is a cst or not.

Re: CST option on a 72 Blazer?

In 71 the trucks were badged as Cheyenne, and the Blazers kept using CST. Same option, different name.

Your description matches exactly. It also has on the spid "cheyenne equipment". Also, it does not have tilt, tach, or AC.
I will be listing this for sale here on the site very soon.
Thanks Guys,
Tom
