can't find a gas cap

Here is the deal, I bought a new in cab gas tank without EEC. The catalog says I need to use a 67-71 gas cap. Bought one and it doesn't fit, bought one for a 72 it doesn't fit. Plus these caps are ugly they both have stickers on them. Where can I find a chrome one that fits?

Re: can't find a gas cap

Last new one I bought was a locking Stant
and it was indeed ugly.

We have lots of great Vendors on the board,
who really know our trucks.
There is a list HERE (scroll down).

Find someone close to you and see if
they can help you out.

And post the results! I'm sure you aren't
the only one who has run into this.

Did you buy the gas cap from the same vendor you bought the tank from? The new tanks may take a different cap. Just a thought...

The second cap I bought came from the place I got the tank. They said it was the one I needed for that tank.

Re: can't find a gas cap

I ordered one from Goodmark for non EEC it was a NAPA box with goodmark's sticker over it worked great. If I were you I would check Napa. And it did have the little sticker on it but the come right off.
