WTF kind of AC Bracket is this???

Ok, so hey guys, I bought a "complete" ac system from some guy out in Cali fornia... and he sent me this bracket. Which don't look like anything i have ever seen.

He said it was on his 283, still mounted when he sold me the stuff. i got a good deal for all of it, $75 for everything, shipping kicked my ass, but oh well. The wife didn't know about my offshore account (Paypal) lol...

So can any of you guys tell me what it is, besides Heavy....?

thanks,
Mondo

Are you trying to use original or what? What engine do you have?

It sucks not being able to hear!

LWB trucks rule, if you don't think so measure your SWB!
After talking to tech support at Air Lift I have found out that the kit I need is 60811. Per the measurements I gave them. Ride height of truck inside spring and inside diameter of springs.

Re: WTF kind of AC Bracket is this???

Well I haven't quite decided. Apparently it was original for 283, but I had planned on installing the ac system in my '71 Suburban, which has a 350. I haven't studied it enough to know if it'll mount up with no issues..

It has surprised me to learn it is a factory bracket. The other years, apparently had a 7 piece mounting system??? This one is 2 pieces.

You can buy the newer brackets form Truck and Car Shop IIRC.

Re: WTF kind of AC Bracket is this???

The bracket you have is what came on my 69 C-20 from the factory. There are, however, several pieces missing from the above pictures. According to the 69 service manual, this bracket was used on the 307s and 350s without the A.I.R. emissions equipment. Those with A.I.R. used the other bracket set. Pictures of all bracket sets used in 1969 are shown on page 1A-33 of the 1969 service manual. However, the picture of this bracket set does not show all the pieces. This particular bracket set is a real PIA if you ever need to remove the valve cover! I don't know what other years used these, but I believe 67, 68, 69 and possibly 70.

I have a couple pics of this beast installed that I tried to attach, but my Internet connection is not cooperating.
