Slight crank pulley wobble question

Hi all, I want to thank everyone forst for all of the help over the past couple of days. I am almost there, the last problem this engine seems to have is a slight wobble on the crank pulley. (engine is a 69 350). Should I replace the pulley? or replace the both the pulley and the harmonic balancer? and has anybody ever done this with the fan on?

If its an aftermarket pulley they often dont fit good. The original one just may not be seated good. Loosen it up & move it & tighten it evenly a little at a time. Or remove it & turn it to a different mounting hole. It doughtful that it is the balancer.

You will have to replace the balancer. There is a rubber insert in them that goes bad and allows the balancer to go out of alignment.

I am fairly certain it is original equipment.

The simplest test is to remove the pulley and start it up. If the balancer has the wobble too, it needs to be replaced. If the wobble is gone, you have the bent pulley already removed, so you can match it up to a replacement.

The balancer has an outer ring & the center hub section. There is a rubber insert holding them together. The pulley is bolted to the center section & crank. If the rubber is deteriated & the outer ring has shifted it would not make the pulley wobble. When removeing the balancer do not use a puller that wraps around the outer ring. Use a puller that uses the taped holes in the balncer. If the rubber looks good & the outer ring is on the same plane as the center (ie has not shifted back or forward) it should be OK. If you use the timing marks for setting the timing & it doesnt seem to time right its posible the outer ring has turned on the balancer.
