02 sensor

i was pricing some o2's online, and i realized that the part number for the upsteam and down stream are the same! is this right? why do they have seperate listings for the same part? anyone else notice this?

On my 96, all four sensors are the same. It can work to your advantage. The front two are actually heated by the ECM. The cat two are not. I had a front sensor go bad. It would not heat up properly. I swapped it with the rear most sensor. Worked like a charm and didn't have replace a new sensor.

ODBII systems can give codes for all four sensors. Looking for a replacement is easier it individual sensors are listed. In some cases, the sensors could actually be different.
