Re: lets see pics of your floor shifter

i dont know what kind of trans your running but lokar makes a floor mount shifter that bolts to the top or bottom of the metal on the floor so you dont have to rasie you hump or anything....heres the link for a th350 but they make them of other gm trans.....http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/8-LOK...item4841b292fc

i used a gennie shifter but they are out of buisness now but used their mid mount shifter that bolts to trans and i didnt have to modify the hump besides the hole for shifter, lokar makes basically the same thing.......heres the link...

Re: lets see pics of your floor shifter

I have a T5, and use the stock Camaro/Firebird shifter. I bought an aluminum Hurst pistol grip shift knob, which brings the shifter exactly into a perfect height for me.

Re: lets see pics of your floor shifter

forgot to mention im running the stock bench. i have a b&m shifter that bolts to the floor too. but the problem is the part of the shifter that hangs below the floor. my tranny(th350) is right there ,no room for the part of the shifter below the floor. (dont know if i explained that right)

Re: lets see pics of your floor shifter

i think the lokar floor mount one says it has off set linkage to mount it .......might be worth wild to call their tech line and tell them theres minimum space inbetween trans and if floor mount would work

Re: lets see pics of your floor shifter

I have used Lokar shifters in many other cars and have been very happy with their quality. They make a top mount and a tail shaft mount so you have some flexibility, their top mount is pretty slim height wise so you may not need to modify your tunnel.

Re: lets see pics of your floor shifter

heres a floor mount with a cable operation that you might be able to mount just to the side of trans so the part that hangs down doesnt hit top of trans...
http://www.lokar.com/product-pgs/shi...p-shifter.html

and if you look at this pic it doesnt add much to height of trans on a top mount....http://www.lokar.com/product-pgs/shi...s-shifter.html

I too thought the Lokar cable mount would fit without doing any hump modifications? I sure hope so. That is what I'm planning on using.

Loving that tall shifter. I want something that tall at least but strait. Ill probably make it custom to fit on a bought linkage.
