Re: Seats recovered

Love the look! If it wasn't for wanting to have my little boy ride with us, the hot rod would get buckets. Keep up the good work!

Re: Seats recovered

Just to clarify, those are the standard burb/blazer high-back buckets covered w/an LMC 'seat cover kit'? They look nice.

Building a small, high rpm engine with the perfect bore, stroke and rod ratio is very impressive.

No. These are factory hibacks from a standard reg cab.

The 'burb buckets grew armrests and started to recline somewhere around '81 or so. The pickups and blazer (through 85) did not recline, or have armrests.

I noticed the arm rests gone which is what prompted the question. I was curious if he had removed them & used standard high-back bucket covers w/o issue. That would give others alternatives if wanting to do a bucket swap.

I'm still on the fence about leaving them (the armrests) in place on the dually as they go through the recovery process. I have to decide quickly....

Re: Seats recovered

They aren't the best looking, but they sure do make it comfortable. You will probably notice the armrest has as much wear as the outer side of the seat usually.

The truck/blazer hi backs are fixed, too. They are also a little more squared off at the top vs. the 'burb seats.

Thanks for the props! The seats came stock in an 81 or 82 4x4, 3/4 or one ton pickup. The dash pad had scottsdale on it if i recall and it also had a 4 speed with tilt. There wasn't much left and it was a job to get them out but i am happy with the way this story ends!
