Bellhousing part numbers

Why are there different GM # on the Bellhousing part #3925506? Like GM2, GM 8, GM 10... DOES IT MATTER BETWEEN THESE GM#'S or just the 3925505. Let me know, I'm looking for one. Mine has the starter ear broken off. TJ

Can the ear on a bellhousing be fix's? Mine is broken and has only one bolt holding the starter. I'm looking for one...TJ

What is the difference in the GM #'s on these bellhousing, like GM7 vs GM8?, see pictures. TJ

I'm certaintly not an expert by any means but both of the bellhousing shown should boltup to any smallblock.

It might be an effect of the picture but it looks like the center hole for the transmission looks a little bit larger in GM8 than GM7.

Hopefully someone who knows about this stuff will chime in.
