Lowering my 65

Hey fellas, I can do more searching on this subject when I get to work but I dont have much tme now and am curious. Is it just as easy as ordering lowering springs for both the front and rear of the truck? At what amount f drop would you worry about lowering shocks as well? Keep in mind I have coated Long Tube headers so they may interfere with how low I could go. Dont really want slammed anyways.

Heres my build thread, would my truck look good with 2" drop all around or should I go for 3" or 4"? Thanks a lot guys like I said I'll do my own research as well.

it depends on what look you want, obviously not slammed, if you want any rake, then maybe a 2/3 would be the ticket, or a lower stance would be a 2.5/4 with spindles and rear springs.

Another option is spindles and bags for the rear, lots of choices and it all depends on what you like and are looking to accomplish.

Re: Lowering my 65

How do these trucks sit factory? level or slight rake? I can tell on mine cause it has big mud tires on the back so it sits up high. I'd like it to sit level, would a 2"-2" drop accomplish that and be level?

Well, they sit with a slight rake, a 2/4 would put it about level. if you want to tow much with your truck, rear airbags would be better so you can adjust the ride height.

What I am doing is 2.5 spindles with 1.5 springs. rear air bags probably 2600's with out a tank or compressor.

for yours, spindles and bags for rear, youll enjoy. since your probably going disc brakes, the spindles would work well with that too.

ok, So youd just have an air inlet somewhere liker under the bumper that you could air up from any compressor-say, at your house? Ive seen those. I do like the idea of bags.

On the back, do the bags go in place of the springs or do they work with them? Got a link to what you are running? Thanks
