Feeling stupid but still need help
Well it seems for all the questions Ive pestered some of you with concerning my rad. support(thanks to all who responded) and not being able to get anything to line up, It turns out I may have my cab to frame mounting hardware installed wrong. So could anyone post a pic of your 67 2wd lwb cab mounting set ups I sure could use the help. I did breakdown and order a assembly catalog but its gonna take some time to get here. thanks in advance for the help.

I will be in need of this soon also. I bought ALL new pieces (rubber) and am not sure how it all goes together. I am still working on the frame so it hasnt been an issue yet. My old ones were so worn (didnt have any at the rad support) so... I have a chassis manual and will look there

make sure your cab is square on the frame I had a big problem with mine till I figured out that the cab was not square. Also dont tighten the rear bolt in the inner fender (bolts to cab floor frame) that will mess up your body lines like crazy~! Shim the back like they did from the factory. Good luck.

Are the core support mounts flat rubber with washers and a triagle shaped piece or tall cone shaped mounts like the cab mounts?

My core supports are flat. I think Ive got them figured out Now I need to know how my cab mounts should be installed.

Stupid question. Is your truck 1/2 ton or 3/4 ton? The rear cab mount hardware is different between 1/2 ton 2wd and 3/4 ton 2wd. Using the wrong mounts will cause problems even if intsalled correctly.

Then its a 1/2 ton unless frames or axles were swapped (highly unlikely). Is your kit for a 1/2 ton?

I used the diagram from the LCM (?) catalog to do mine.
Loosen all the bolts, but only do one side at a time to keep the cab from slipping. Use a 2x4 with your floor jack. My trim didn't line up the first time, so I did it again and added some metal washers. I wouldn't tighten the snot out of the bolts, as this defeats the purpose of the rubber bushings. You'll like it when you get done. What used to go "clunk" now just goes "thump". |
