Americana
I usually reside in the 67-72 area but I thought you guys would appreciate this.
This truck has been sitting in the exact place for over 20 years so I thought I'd share it. It's current home is in the dry Mojave desert so I'm pretty certain it has no real rust to speak of. It also looks like it's in great shape. If you look close, you'll see another one. |

Re: Americana
I'll bet the guys in the east would love to find one as nice as that 51.

Re: Americana
Are you sure he doesn't still use it for stacking the hay! Nice patina, shorten the boom and you have a vintage tow truck. If you can see it from the road I'd bet its just like the ones I stop and look at; not for sale or outrageous price. I've quit asking if you can see it from the street or public road.

I'm sure I'm not the first Chevy guy to spot it. That said, He probably plans to be buried in it. |

Re: Americana
With no weeds growing under it, not a lot of dust on it and the fact that it is sitting next to hay stacks with a stacking crane on it I'd think it still gets used. Those bale slingers are dangerous as all get out though.

Re: Americana
That's a neat pic. The tires are still pumped up so I'd guess that he moves it around some.
That boom is tall, I bet the truck rocks when he swings it. Last edited by Russell Ashley; 09-10-2011 at 09:06 AM. Reason: correct spelling. |

Is it a 3100 or 3600 - looks like a 3100 to me (don't all the 3/4 ton 3600's have the extra stake pocket fwd of the rear wheel well?) |
