Caliper placement on disc conversion?
Hi guys. New member here from north Ms. I didn't see a thread to introduce myself so I'm doing it here. Great forum by the way!
I did most of the disc conversion on my '70 chevy c10 today. New spindles and have the disc mounted. Ran out of time this afternoon when I was putting calipers in place. Are they marked as to which side they go on? I just assumed the bleeder valves would go to the top and stuck them on that way but not sure the brake lines a gonna be right in that position. Any ideas? Like I said I ran out of time and didn't get to look at them very close to see if they were marked. Thanks, Jeff Posted via Mobile Device |

Re: Caliper placement on disc conversion?
Welcome,
Bleeders have to be on top to get air out when you fill them with fluid no matter what the lines are doing. You may need longer lines also. The factory drums may not work.

Re: Caliper placement on disc conversion?
Thanks guys. I was thinkin the bleeders needed to be at the top just for that reason. The kit I bought came with the lines and they are long enough. Just seemed like they weren't placed right. I will work with em more tomorrow atternoon. Will be sure and check out that thread 72.

Re: Caliper placement on disc conversion?
Yea when we buy kits for these things and they say bolt in, that doesn't mean in the exact same place as factory! It just means it has a bolt to use, well maybe it does!
