Part supplier-Genuine GM
I don't see this link on a lot of > Link pages,
http://www.gmpartsdirect.com/ I found them a few weeks ago looking for different dealers to get prices from and Holy Sh!t The smoked everyone I checked... They even still have certain parts that have been discontinued. Example: Dealer cost On my items where $ 205.68, I got it for $ 141.35 Delivered. I saved $ 64.33 and didn't have to call around or drive around. Look at the invoice below, some dealer prices I checked were higher than the avg list price they quoted that they should charge. I just recieved my pkg in 10 days, all is excellent and was packed well. Parts were as original ( like the scroll markings on the Silverado door panel trim) I only waited to post on them, till I made sure it was the real deal : (ok -- and I didn't want anyone getting my parts if they were the last ones in stock) You do need the original GM part number for this site. and they don't take phone calls. I recommend it to anyone looking for quality GM replacment parts. Last edited by Nvbowtie; 04-11-2003 at 09:16 PM. |

I've been using them for a few years with about a 75% rate of satisfaction. They're a pretty good supplier if you don't live in NC and you don't return parts. They'll eat you up in restocking charges. Since they're based in Winston-Salem, NC I have to pay 7% sales tax.
My local Chevy dealer comes within 5-10% of their prices on most items so I buy locally if I need parts in a day or two. Make sure you have your part numbers 100% correct and know exactly what you want when buying to prevent having to pay that restocking fee. Oh yeah, I posted the link somewhere on here. Parts number site?
All we need now is someone to give us a site for the part numbers we need, or a "current" parts number book. Some of the numbers have been changed, others discontinued. The yo-yo's beside the GM counter around here "don't have a clue", and very uncooperative and won't even look unless its for a late model truck. Thier standard answer is "we can't get that" or Good Luck its discontinued.

The guys at my dealership parts counter are pretty smart fellas and if they say they don't have it or can't get it I believe them. They have a book on hand for most of the stuff I need which is usually misc interior items. I'd love to find a GM parts manual for my truck. Even better if I could get it on CD-ROM. I have one for '93-'02 Camaros in PDF format and it's been a lifesaver. I wish someone would take the manual for our trucks and scan and convert to PDF. That would be very helpful to A LOT of people. It could even make someone some cash.

They are a good supplier. I used them to buy my non smog pump serpentine brackets and other small stuff. Saved a good chunk of change.

^^^^^^Above post - link^^^^^^
http://www.partszoneonline.com/index.php --- I know what you mean about certain dealers and lazy a$$ part counter people--- ask them to bring up a exploded view of the part area in their computer, if they say they can't----- ask them why they are still open, the GM computer terminal is the same database at all GM parts counters. I have been to my fair share. They still can get the orig GM # from the computer. See below !!! (1980 truck interior) Last edited by Nvbowtie; 04-16-2003 at 12:28 AM. |
