trouble shooting a oem tach?

I bought a oem tach and it stopped working after a few months.

Any toughts on how to trouble shoot it?

The first thing I do is check the basics. Check connections for tightness (and cleanliness). Check the circuits for continuity. Is it fused? Check for that.
Green lead to coil neg. Red to batt pos (key on NOT accy). Black to grnd. White to lights on.
