59 Apache just arrived to Australia!
Hi Guy's, I wanted to share with you our new member of the family,
I purchased this beautiful 59 from a nice woman in San diego, she was the third owner with only 26k miles on it, now that I have this truck here in the flesh I believe it to be true. Its very original apart from paint which is nice, front mono leafs added (for rake I guess) & wheels & tires. Plans are; replace rear springs to level it, coker white walls, oil change & drive it! this will keep me happy & fill the void while my GMC build progresses. |

Re: 59 Apache just arrived to Australia!
Thanks for the nice comments! Dne, I was educated on Texas talk back in 88 when I stayed in Houston for 3 weeks for my cousins wedding. Apart from the wedding day itself, I was introduced to Tex Mex food (yum) from then on I was eating Fajitas & sipping on Corona's everyday!

I like your plans. That thing is too beautiful to do anything else to it. |

That right there is a piece of god's handiwork. Clean unmolested low miler. I would sleep in that truck. That is pure unadulterated artwork.

Wow that is in nice shape. Too bad we had to loose it to a big Island down under.
Enjoy driving it. Be sure to keep us updated with pictures.

Re: 59 Apache just arrived to Australia!
oh pulleeeeze no wide whites!!!! Right now it's a california cruizer. A MAN'S truck. looks awsumme.
Try photoshopping it before you spend your money. Wide whitewalls only look good on thunderbirds and cadillacs. Sorry if I offend, but just my 2c See? no whitewalls. White truck, black tires= cool tan truck, + black tires= almost as cool Last edited by Coupeguy2001; 09-20-2011 at 07:02 PM. |

Re: 59 Apache just arrived to Australia!
Nice ! Well, some like the looks of whitewalls, and some don't. Personally, I think it would look good with whitewalls, but you know something ? It's YOUR truck ! Enjoy !

Re: 59 Apache just arrived to Australia!
post a picture of a side shot on the photo shop forum and ask them to put a set of wide whites on it. They can also lower it if you wanted.
I'm a little partial to wide whites

The man paid his money, let him do whatever he wants. I too generally prefer blackwalls but as entourageguy's yelllow four eye clearly shows, these trucks look FANTASTIC with a number of different looks. Huge congrats on a super nice purchase. I hope you keep coming here and sharing with us what's going on in the classic Chevy truck scene down under. LOTS o pictures please! Most of us will never get there so you can help us see it. |

Re: 59 Apache just arrived to Australia!
Hi Guy's thanks so far with encouraging reply's, I'm back with some before & after pics on my Apache, so far I replaced engine oil & filter, replaced gearbox & diff oil's, fitted up the cokers on the rims that came on the truck & also fitted the rear mono leafs to compliment the front mono's & eliminate the rake. Sorry Dan these after shots are not scenic Australia but just out side my humble work shop.

Re: 59 Apache just arrived to Australia!
Red,
I like it a LOT. How'd you lower the rear? REmove leafs? De-arch? Blocks? Just my $.02, I'd put the beauty rings back on and though I genuinely like the hubcaps that were on it, I'd put the correct pointy '57-59 caps. Those rock. If you want ot jazz it a touch, paint the steelies some other color. Orange, a soft yellow, something. SUCH a damn nice looking truck! |

Re: 59 Apache just arrived to Australia!
I'd have to agree! Even painting the wheels black and putting the trim rings and hubcaps back on would look good......Definitely a good score though, nice truck!
