396, 700r4 and modified SWB driveshaft - ready to install

I bought this set from another board member and never got to use it. I don't see myself getting to it - so I am cleaning up the garage a bit.

Block casting number - 3855961p

Was removed from a running/driving truck by the previous owner and mentioned that it ran fine and was a quick truck - I got it delivered freight to my driveway by a lift gate truck.

Full engine - alternator, power steering pump, water pump, starter, carb, etc. I think even the AC compressor, etc is present (it has been awhile since I have looked)

Does have a minor leak in the oil pan where the drain plug is - but nothing crazy.

I am asking $1000 OBO for the complete set up (396, 700r4 and the modified driveshaft (for the 700r4) for a SWB truck).

Here are pix from when I bought it - same as it looks today - just sitting in my garage though. I will wait a few days to gauge interest and then put up for sale locally.

Must be picked up in Toledo, Ohio.

Questions - let me know.

Thanks!

Looks like the block is a 1966 casting. If you happen to part and the carb happens to be correct for a BB truck I'd be interested in it.

Good luck with the sale.

Re: 396, 700r4 and modified SWB driveshaft - ready to install

m6z - carb is a BB carb - not interested in splitting this up yet.

70STOVEBOLT - yes - driveshaft is included to bolt directly into a SWB truck - the whole drivetrain was pulled to go to a newer motor/trans.

budnikguy - no idea on mileage and I have not heard it run - PO bought the truck with the setup in it and then drove it for a few months while he stockpiled parts for the swap. Not interested in shipping at this time.

suspect - not interested in splitting this up just yet.

If you buy it - I can sit on it for a bit. I would like it gone by Thanksgiving though - so I don't have to trip over it in the winter moving stuff around it.

Let me know.

Thanks!

Ya know, it's a good/bad thing I don't live closer cuz I'd probably have another BBC to hide from my wife. Good price & those M/T valve covers are one of my all time favs.

Very nice deal. I'm glad I'm not closer, it would be in my garage, and shortly thereafter, in my '67.
