57 tailgate pivot
What does the tailgate pivot look like on a 57 stepside? I never had a tailgate when i bought it an d am not sure what i need to mount it now...

I don't have any pictures, sorry. But it is round with a tapped hole in the center, the outside diameter had a keyway milled in it. Mine were rusted real bad so I made some news one out of a piece of stainless. It has been about 30 years since I worked on them, but if I remember there was a raise piece in the tailgate that went into the keyway. The threaded hole was 3/8 or 7/16", sorry no pictures. Hope this helps. Maybe somebody will come along with pictures.

I forgot that I had save the old pivots from 30 years ago, these are the originals from my 57. You can see what there suppose to look like but you can also see how bad rusted.
