Who knows what this is?
Poking around under the hood and saw this thing. It looks like maybe something is supposed to be connected to it. Can someone tell me what it is and what it does?

Should have a single wire from water temp gauge ran to it. It maybe a aftermarket gauge.

as original, starting in 70, there was one on each head.
One was for the guage or dummy light, and was on the drivers head, the one on the passenger side was for an early smog control device. |

Just to add which would support this statement, my 69 wrecker's 350 has the one in the driver side head and a plug in the passenger side.
