68 Burb Question

Would a 68 GMC Burb 4 x 2 have the trailing arm or leaf spring rear suspension?

Re: 68 Burb Question

Since its a GMC there is about an 80% chance of it being leaf spring, but could come either way

You are pretty knowledgeable with this stuff so I'll assume you are correct. I jusy because the GMC pickups came with leafs in those years the GMC Burbs might be the same.

Re: 68 Burb Question

I'll admit I may well be way off on this. I don't like 'challenging' Livrat... I met him and he has a wealth of info on these trucks, and most of his info is from hands on education, where only 50% of mine has been hands on. If he logs on and tells me I'm wrong, I'll take it as fact.

Re: 68 Burb Question

69 GMC burb is a bad example though... the coils were standard equipment on the C/1500 pick ups in 69.
Interesting though, GMC stopped production of the burb through most of 69. They started up again, possibly for the 70 model year.

LOL.. Andy... Go ahead an challenge me!, I am not always 100% certain on some things. I do know I did have one 2WD Burb that I parted that had leaf springs, but that does not say it came from the factory that way and I did not bother to look at the spid to see if it said anything about it.
