I used this nice little 1/2 ton gantry to take off my cab and it was a simple one man job. I wonder if my shop would ever miss it,lol.

Re: Ok, now i am spoiled
That's great. I'm afraid to pull the cab off. I wouldn't be able to stop if I get to that point.

I wish it was in my budjet, but I'll just have to rely on young man power. I enlist my son and his friends whenever there's heavy lifting to do.

That's a cool tool , I believe I can make one of those out of wood that would fit in my budget . Thanks for the idea !

Re: Ok, now i am spoiled
I built one in my garage for lifting my 36 sq ft work bench into the rafters when I am not using it but it also works well for lifting the body off my truck. I used a Ramsey winch off a 4x4 it can pull 5000 lbs.

That looks like a very handy tool. It could be used for everything from engine swaps to unloading very heavy cargo.

Re: Ok, now i am spoiled
Looks great if you can't get anyone to help.
Looks tight on each side though. Probably going to be a little more tense putting a painted back back on once it's painted. the "4 guy" method works great to (of course if you can gather up 3 other guys)

Re: Ok, now i am spoiled
I would store it at your house so it won't take up as much room at work. Whenever they need it you could lend it to them......FREE...
