need opinions for rear end
Ive got a triangulated four link set up but im not sure what rear end i want to use. Heres what i got, stock 12 bolt(5 lug) ford 9 inch thats two inches wider and would need a different lug pattern, and adifferent nine inch rear thats under my 35 chevy, its got a posi, 4:11 gears, strange axles already 5x5 chevy pattern. This is the one id like to use, problem is its been narrowed for the 35. I measured it to be 52 inches from flane to flange while the stock 12 bolt is 58(close to it anyway). If i run the narrowed 9 inch, i could just run a larger tire and wheel, i dont care for the pro street look, maybe more of a corvette look. The truck has a step notch and is bagged, would 3 inches narrower on each side be a big deal? i plan to run 18 or 20 inch wheels. what would you do?

I would use the other 9", have it narrowed and order new axles for it. I would pull the posi out of the 35 and put in this rearend. You might check and see if the axles you have can be narrowed...might save $ from buying a new set.

custom axles are expensive, the ones in the 9 inch i have are tapered so they cant be cut down, mainly what i want to know is if any one thinks the one out of my 35 is too narrow, i will probably use it, im going to wait awhile before i fire up the welder to make sure thats what i want to do, thanks.
