Something Different

Ok, am I the only one that actually thinks the 89+ stepsides look nice on our trucks? I am really leaning this way even though I have talked to several that don't like it.

I think you are the only one.

Seriously, what turns me off about it is how our trucks are square and the newer beds are more round. Sort of like trying to put a square peg in a round hole thing to me.

They look a ton better on 67-72 body styles.

Yeah Mike, I'm torn between agreeing with you that the round and square don't match well and actually thinking it looks alright. This is by far the best one I've seen. Oh well, like I usually say about others' stuff, To each his own.

Definetely, to each his own. Just because I may not like something in no way means it doesn't look good to someone else. I'm quite sure there is a lot of things about my truck a lot of folks don't like. But it's if I like it or not, you know? I'm the one who drives it.

I have seen some that look ok, but never seen one that looked great. I personally dont like the look, but as long as you do it clean and you like it, I say go for it.

That one looks pretty good in the pictures. I have seen one locally, and did not like it at all, though.

What matters is if you like it. If you do, set yours up that way.

That is how I feel about my Dumbo-ear mirrors. I am one of about three people in the whole world who like them on a "sport truck," apparently. They are staying.

If that truck isn't from Tulsa there is an identical one here. I'm a big anti-fan of that look though.

Yeah, guess it's those sexy pics! It's the blue truck on the other thread that has the 89+ stepside bed on it.

Maybe if he took a grinder to the front half body lines and smoothed them out it would look like they matched. LOL

Sounds like it is BONDO time to me lol. I always wanted to fill the channel on the side of a 73-79 Ford just to see what it looked like. Did I hear someone say "custom"

Well, my preferencel probably goes in this order. 73-87 stepside, fleetside, 89+ stepside. It just dependson which one I can get a good deal on! All I know is that rust bucket of a bed I have is not staying on there!
