What did you get done 10/8/2011 edition

I got my column upper and lower installed today and I dropped off my seat to an upholsterer to put the LMC Cover on.My new dash pad has some cracks that developed since i bought it a week ago and i am getting a cover for it
how about you all?

PS i was very happy to see not only did the Yankees lose but the phillies did too their first round of the playoffs... I think im rooting for the Brewers and the Tigers for the series

I put my new motor in. It is bolted up at the fly wheel and block. Motor mounts are tight. I am trying to remember how all these brackets go back together.

Cool Re: What did you get done 10/8/2011 edition

Scored a bench seat, a pair of seatbelts in decent shape and a dash pad in fair condition. Rain today and nothing else. Getting some AllMetal filler this week so I can finish the cab prep.

Re: What did you get done 10/8/2011 edition

Took my '50 on it's first road trip Saturday. Drove two and a half hours up to Fredricksburg Va for the 2011 Rockabilly HotRod Rumble. The show drew well over 300 cars this year. As always the Central Virginia chapter of the Karb Kings did an outstanding job running the event.

Today I gave the Heap a much needed bath and mild detailing.

Show pics and a short "Cruising" video......

Re: What did you get done 10/8/2011 edition

I scored a pair of factory stainless steel side mirrors from the junk yard along with a factory tire jack (it bug me that I didn't have a factory jack).

I need to post the pics of the mirrors, they look so much better than the dented, faded, and pitted aftermarket chromed mirrors. I discovered that my aftermarket mirrors were actually plastic.

I was packing up my trucks and headed home from 5 days at Cruisin the Coast. There were over 5,400 antique cars/trucks registered and a ton of others that brought there rides to just cruise around. If you've never been to this show and are some what close to the coast of Mississippi t
is one show that should be on you bucket list. If you can dream it then its probable there.

Re: What did you get done 10/8/2011 edition

I "tested" out the new truetrac a few times. Got quite a bit sideways one time. Also i fixed a power steering leak, bolted down passenger side seat half way. The truck has bucket seats and did not come with them so PO only bolted the out side track down. I have the front mount i still need to install. It is sad it has taken me over 4 years to install one bolt... Also sealed a vaccum fitting in my intake.

Re: What did you get done 10/8/2011 edition

farted with trying to get the S spring into place with the door on...wound up bending the hell out of it and throwing my hands up...went and washed my truck instead and noticed one of my 22" boss rims is bent in one area just a bit...not a good day

I did dremel the door panels so the door locks and electric window switches set flush, the previous owner had them sticking out a bit

Big Weekend. Worked on the truck this weekend out at my dads. Well, needless to say, she made it to the house today. 45 Minute drive to the house and it was awesome. Windows down and the Sliding Glass open. Radio doesn't work yet but i got to listen to the duals all the way to the house.

That looks awesome! I love rattle can paint jobs.

Today I played around with 4 lo. Got to the bottom of my driveway and just let off the clutch. The truck climbed up it (slowly. lol) but on its own. It was pretty cool.

I did a 'dry' install of all the various accesories for the dually's bbc. I'm diggin 'em.... Sat, I worked on some basic fluids maint for another truck (coolant, trans, & rear-end fluid flushes) but was rushed to get it done as I had a seat @ Game-1 for the ALCS between the Texas Rangers & Detroit.

The traffic was lousy but we made it & even endured the rain delays. The Rangers did what everyone thought was not possible & got the win against Detroits ace. I was supposed to go again tonight but ma' nature had other plans & we definitely needed some rain. Rained off/on most of the afternoon so not much else accomplished.

Quick, crappy cell phone pic while playing around Friday night & a random pic from the game. I really liked that guys sign....

Re: What did you get done 10/8/2011 edition

I made lemonade out of lemons this weekend.

I took advantage of the great weather saturday and took the truck out for some junkyard cruising. Found a couple good parts trucks and a few nice boneyards that are off the beaten path. on the way back with a bed full of parts the transmission failed. 250 miles was all i got out of it. I parked it in a buddies back yard, started a campfire and drank his beer until he got home from work. Turned out to be a great weekend.
