Removed the rain gutters.

Yay...

or Nay...

I don't mind them on my Blazer because they're part of the cab and are the same color as the truck, so it looks a LITTLE cleaner. But I'm iffy about the truck ones.

Re: Removed the rain gutters.

I think it looks a little bit cleaner but now you really need good door seals.

Re: Removed the rain gutters.

Well, I'd like to mimic what most new cars have, where there's an outer rubber stripping that fills in the gap. And hell yeah I'm filling those holes! Just silicone for now, since the roof is all surface rust and it'll be getting repainted soon

I guess they're gonna stay off!

Re: Removed the rain gutters.

I figured there wouldn't be much much difference considering every time it rains and I open the door, a gallon of water flies onto the seat when I open the door.

Re: Removed the rain gutters.

They are part of what give the truck the right look for the year, to my eye. Then again I like the factory ride height and stance, so my taste is much different than many on the site. I am not against mods and will have several non-standard elements in mine when finished.

Re: Removed the rain gutters.

What's the problem? My '73 never had gutters. What problems should I be having that I'm not?

Re: Removed the rain gutters.

Just need good door seals..My '74 did not come with gutters either and they tend to leak with a good rain or if I spray them to hard at the car wash.

I'm never lifting this truck, not even 2". I just want a clean look, and am trying a lot of ways to reduce wind noise... which removing the gutters did help a little bit.
