what is wrong with front end

my problem is with my 73 blazer. it has the full time case with the lock out hubs on the front axle. the problem is when the truck is locked in 4 wheel drive and the front axle gets traction it pops really loud. i know this is kinda vague but i was wondering what might cause this noise. it sounded like the locker but i took it apart and it seemed fine. please give me some hints. any help would be welcome.

73 blazer 6 inch all spring lift 350/350 with crappy 3.08 gears and 35 inch bfg tires. just put out 135 hp to the wheels on the dyno.

54 chevy delray .060 over 250 i-6 which was taken from my first truck(68 gmc). it is next in line for a rebuild
