1 Ton Frame Reinforcments????
Hey, does anyone think that I should do any frame reinforcments on my 2wd 1 ton crew cab frame if I were to put a Duramax/Allison combo in it. Just plan to haul with it, nothing too extreme.

Re: 1 Ton Frame Reinforcments????
In my plans of putting a cummins in my crewcab. 1 Ton 2wd frame converted to 4x4. I don't plan to box the frame. I don't quite see the need.. If you're worried maybe just box it back to the middle of the cab...

Re: 1 Ton Frame Reinforcments????
Just put a few plates on the inside to box it . between the cab and bed on the inside add some flat plates because those are a weak spots. don't completely box them just as a few inches here and there and avoid putting them in places you need to get into for bolts. add another cross-member at the end for rigidity. that's all i can think of. Really the 1 ton frame is rather sturdy I've found it impossible to warp my 1/2 ton frame towing very heavy liquid trailers
