Will this serpentine belt setup work?
I found someone local parting out a 1990 Blazer. It's got a 350 in it. I made a deal with him for the serpentine belt setup including the ac compressor, alternator, ps pump, and water pump. Here are pics. Can anyone tell me if this one will work?
Thanks!

Re: Will this serpentine belt setup work?
I have used them on many older rigs.
Get the water pump & fan too and it will work on an older small block, they are reverse rotation from the non-serpentine stuff and don't interchange.

Re: Will this serpentine belt setup work?
It should be fine, I'm setting up one from an 89 Suburban.

Re: Will this serpentine belt setup work?
Yep, I'm getting those too, plus I think I'll grab the rad hoses just because I know those are tough to find sometimes and then I'll have one to try. I figure I'll replace the water pump, but it's good to have the original.
Thanks for the fast reply. Anybody need any other parts off this truck?

Re: Will this serpentine belt setup work?
Will I need to get new hoses made? Do the ones on this newer setup have metric threads?
Thanks again to all who helped.

Re: Will this serpentine belt setup work?
OK, I went and pulled the serpentine setup off the truck tonight. That was fun! I didn't realize that I had to get a puller to remove the ps pump before I could get to the last bolts for the brackets on the driver's side. So off to Pep Boys as it started to get dark. I think I buggered up the damper pulley because I didn't realize the harmonic balancer pulley bolt needs to come off before I could take off that pulley. I bent it getting it off, so i guess I'll need another one of those. I finished in nthe dark, but that's par for the course.
Now I'll have to pull my old accessories off the motos and make the swap. At least the front clip is off and I can just pull the core support off to make it easier. Does anyone know if the ps pump fittings on this pump are metric, or will I be able to use my old pressure hose? The truck I took it off of had a separate power steering pump cooler. so the return hose won't work. Thanks again to all who provided advice.

Re: Will this serpentine belt setup work?
The late model pump's pressure fitting has a different thread and design, but... the whole thing unscrews from the reservoir and can be replaced with the one from your old pump. I found the pressure hose from a 67 Chevelle worked very well and threads directly into our boxes. I've done this swap on both Screamin and the Malibu and its very easy. Be careful not to lose the spring loaded check valve just behind the fitting.
You will also need to rewire your alternator, so I hope you grabbed the pigtail with the alt. I provided a schematic for this as well... again its very easy and totally reversible... you dont even need to cut or mutilate any wires in your harness. If you want to go all out, beings you have the clip off..... the lower schematic is how I have my vehicles setup with headlight and fan relays, it works flawlessly. Bill
