Unhappy Botched my engine paint!

Well, I always knew I sucked at painting. But this time the only thing that made it turn out bad was that I could no longer stand to sit there and srape away old paint. So of course the paintjob turned out less than perfect.

I guess I got what I wanted however, an engine that was all orange.

Jeff

It's looking a little better now that the paint is drying.. as for the chair I hang onto it. Was given to me by my Grandma - Have a couch which matches it, but that's out back in the shop.

I like both yours and TIMSPEED'S but...
the orange spark plugs in yours just add that little
extra touch KOOL well done Jeff.
I don't even have an engine to paint yet, I hope I find one shortly.

Actually those are old Accel shortie plugs, I put them in because I didn't want paint inside the cylinder bores.

I have no plan of keeping those plugs with the engine - besides the paint would hinder the spark I think.

I'll post some close up pictures tomorrow.. alot of problems with the valve covers/timing cover - which I guess is not that much of a problem as I intend to replace them with crome pieces.

It turned out 'okay' I suppose. But I had higher hopes after visiting the car show last weekend.

Yeah, the one you see is warped pretty bad. I just bolted it on and used a good bit of RTV to seal the gap so I would not have to worry about paint in my lifter valley. To be honest those heads aren't staying on the engine either.. I have another set which I painted seperately that will be installed. hehe.

I guess I just needed something to do.

you arent by any chance proud of that 638 are you? you're posting about it like mad, next thing you know, you'll start a thread about how you routed the plug wires. enough of the "little things", get that bad boy to the track and lets see if it walks the walk as much as you talk the talk.

just messin, man!
