aftermarket wiring harness for my 56 GMC
I'm in the middle of restoring my 56 GMC long step & thinking is it worth replacing the wiring harness? Some of the wiring has gone crusty & just curious if some of the members here have had anything to do with the harness's sold by some of the major vendors??

Re: aftermarket wiring harness for my 56 GMC
I always rewire anything that has old hard crumbly insulation. it saves a lot of worrys about fire and breakdowns. The aftermarket wiring harnesses are nice but i do my own.
but I like to do all my own work. |

Re: aftermarket wiring harness for my 56 GMC
I used an American Autowire harness and I'm very happy with it. I looked around and bought one off of here that hadn't been used. A good harness is worth the money.

Re: aftermarket wiring harness for my 56 GMC
I got mine from EZ wire. Haven't installed it yet buy looks like a good kit, 21 circuits. You do have to make up the light connections and some of the accessories. All of the column, alternator, etc. are already made up and ready to plug in. The wire is the correct size for the circuits, color coded and labled every 6" (I think). You can get all black if you want. It also comes with the horn relay & flashers. I had questions and got the owner with my first call.
