tranfer case model
Hello friends
I drive a 1500 2003 chevy extended cab 4wd whats model its my tranfer case? there;not tags o identificacion plate but a have the round button auto,4lo,4hi,2w i asume have the autotrac sistem but i tried to do an oil change for tranfer case and found red oil like transmision fluid i drive my last car was a 1500 4wd chevy pickuo 2001 and use a blue color transfer case fluid my question is i have a diferent model tranfer case? o somebody mess out my truck? I have two month old with this truck |

most of the t-cases use the new dexron 5 on chevys,

NVG 246-NP8 Auto-Trak II, transfer case fluid, GM P/N 88900402 NVG 261-NP2 Manual Transmission Fluid GM P/N 88861800 NVG 263-NP1 Manual Transmission Fluid GM P/N 88861800 If you have a Auto-Trak use the GM Fluid, All other transfer cases use Dexron III. Since "Money Hungry" GM introduced Dexron IV, Dexron III is being phased out as a product name. It was renamed Manual Transmission Fluid part # 88861800 DO NOT use Dexron VI in place of Dexron III/manual transmission fluid in any manual transmissions or transfer cases that specify Dexron III, as a failure may result. NP1, NP2, NP3 & NP8 are RPO codes......Look in your gloveblox & know for sure what case you have |

crap wish i had known that when we did the 100k on our 03 s-10 zr2 the dealer told us to fill the tcase with dexron vi
