81 GMC Wrecker
I picked this up last friday. 1981 GMC C30 with a holmes 440 hi-power. Has a 350 with 4 speed.
Every body part on the truck has a dent and were all no good.. As you can see the cab was crushed, looks like something fell directly on the roof, the boom and hood are fine, as far as what did it.. who knows? Any one like the hood scoop?  Its missing the pulley at the end of the boom, snatch block(i think its called that), cable, ALL of the bed lights, but has the winch. Pulling it home a 2 hour drive down and 2 hours back. Now the work begins! |

Interior Shot Engine Bay, apparently the guy had a nice distributor, chrome valve covers, and air cleaner because they are gone. |

Got it unloaded, the work started immediately
Front clip came off easily After getting everything i could possibly want out of the cab |

Thanks its gonna be alot of work! Got the bill of sale only. I didn't need the title because i cant use the same vin because the cab is crushed. But i wasn't offered one either..
The parts i got off of it Taking the cab off Going to the scrap yard, the whole front clip and cab, a vw beetle pan, and vw front clip. After the cab was taken off Pulling the motor out |

I think I saw it listed on craigslist a few months ago. I was drooling over the wrecker body for my crew cab but wife said NO.

I would have to guess that thing was originally a diesel due to the hyd brake booster! Good ol'6.2
