80 Street Coupe

Fist off would like to say hi i there i am new to this board but not new to gm trucks I have a bunch of them.

Anyways had someone approach me saying they have a 80 gmc street coupe for sale so i went and checked it out it is a legitimate street coupe its a 4x4 stepside got a/c, tilt steering, power windows and locks, bucket seats, speakers on the door panel and behind the seat, factory tach, 4 speed, hood emblem, painted bumper with molding and the s/c mirrors. The truck is somewhat apart has new gm doors, hood, and fenders.
The stepside box is in mint shape as it was started to be restored still needs new wood no rust on it.
The cab had new rockers and cab corners redone but it was a crappy job and needs to be done properly also new pieces inbetween the rocker and cab mount. The underside of the cab is rusty but workable and the cab is all primer.

Engine and trany where rebuilt 8 years ago when the restoration started and the truck has been sitting ever since, the tires and sunk about 1/2 a foot into the ground. Also the frame looks to be in good shape just regular rust nothing crazy.

This truck would need a full resto but all the metal is there and is good shape other than the cab. Seats r ripped to shi,t door/window seals are junk, dash is cracked.
Here is the question what is something like this worth i have researched the street coupe but its hard to put a value on something like this that i did not know existed till a couple days ago I should have got some pics but it is not much to look at in its current condition.

Just wanted to add that the guy does not have the gmc tailgate for the stepside box.

Re: 80 Street Coupe

Would be a rare truck if was restored ...most of the Street Coupes just had a few options ...a full load 4x4 like that is unusual

If it is a Canadian truck you can get the build info from GM Vintage.

That being said trucks that need work do not make a lot of money as restoration costs are so high.

I would estimate about 2000.00 based on your description.

A nice restored unit like that would be 10,000.00 to 12,000.00.

Re: 80 Street Coupe

Ya I offered the guy $1500 for the truck a couple days ago and he was not interested at all he figures he can get $5000 the way it sits. I would love to pick this truck up and restore it but not for 5 grand

Re: 80 Street Coupe

5k is way to high but its worth more than 1500 in parts if we are talking about NOS doors/fenders/hood, tilt manual column, tach dash, buckets/console, and a nice bed.
