classic parts radios?

Has anyone ever bought one of these? I see it says AM/FM/CD but is it actually wide enough for a CD? I have an uncut gauge bezel but the dash was cut for a cd player behind it. Think I can still mount this radio in the stock place?

Not 100% sure but i think its set up for a CD changer. The description does say CD controller.

It would be nice to find an old style radio with knobs and CD player. Im not installing a CD changer in a truck.

I have that radio in my truck, its supported by the knobs just like the factory radio, and comes with a universal rear support if desired. It is a cd changer controller. Mine came with an MP3 hook up.

Is that a USB connector up there for MP3? I've been trying to decide if I want to cut my dash for a CD player or find something like this. However, most of the ones I seen only have CD changer input, and all I want is USB.

Why not retain the old radio and make a bracket to mount a newer radio under the dash like a cb?

run my ipod through my original cassette player in my 87...go that route if u have a casette player.

when thoses radio manufacturers will integrate decent usb input ill buy it.cds are already a thing of the past for me.

^yep & they cost about 4$. I run pandora radio off my phone. It plugs into the headphone jack on the phone and goes in the cassette player.

My radio came with the MP3 input built in. It has about 2 ft of cable so it can be mounted in the glovebox or storage spot of the vehicle, so its hidden. I chose to mount mine up in the pocket of my dash for ease of use. This set up works great, and the new radio has more power and better signal then the old stocker. This set up sounds a lot better then the using the cassette hook up. These radios are rated at 240watts, 4x60 and have cd changer Aux inputs, 4 Channel RCA outputs, and USB MP3/WMA Playback. Bass and Treble control, speaker balance control, seek and scan, these things my old radio didn't have.


That CD button also controls Aux input such as a DVD player

Ya, I didn't go for the hidden bit of it. I wanted it somewhere easy to get at and safe from being bumped. And even with it there I still have enough room in the pocket for my cell and wallet, when I'm driving. I still have to upgrade the speakers and install a small sub and amp combo.

One thing i have been wondering aboot these radios is that can you run a sub and amp off of them?

I believe so, they do have RCA outputs in the back, I don't know much about stereo equipment, but I thought that s what they could be used as?

i just paid a man in Wichita KS $80 to put an iPod jack in my $20 junkyard Delco factory AM/FM cassette. i don't have it back from him yet, will let you know how it works. i saw several of his other later-model Delcos that he has added iPod jacks for. they worked really well. I am going to order the LMC dash dual speakers for the center slot and run some 6X9s in boxes in the back and call it good.

there is a DIY thread on here for how to do this, but it was worth the $80 to let him do it. he cleans them all up and takes out the static, etc.

Only prob I have with those radios is the display is light of krypton bright green and the fake tuning lines on the display just detract from the visual display
