Re: ugh

If you are trying to post a video from you tube then just copy and past the link and it will appear as a window on your post.

another way is to upload it to a off site hosting site like Photo Bucket then link from your account.
Trying to up load a video directly to the site takes up a lot of space and if you can do it at all it will usually be a very small format.

You can post it on Youtube or Photobucket. Copy and paste the address to your reply and it will come up.

Site feedback notifies the Admins when there is a post made. If you need a direct answer from the staff, you should post there or PM us directly. Thanks

Re: ugh

One thing you have to remember, if you upload it to an off site hosting site then for the continuity of the thread, and posting etiquette you should plan to leave it there for a while. When you start managing your photo bucket account and moving stuff or deleting videos, it renders the thread here useless for future users because all that is left is an red "X" that reads "image unavailable". If it is questionable if you want to have it in your account for a long time, just post it to You Tube and link from there.

P.S. this site is really big, giving the mods ten minutes to respond to a question then firing off a snide remark tends to get a shot accross your bow.

Re: ugh

i upd it to my photobucket ... just though it could be done locally.

p.s. if a mod had/has time to move a topic, they have the same time to answer and or give advise to the topic they're editing in my opinion. 5-15mins whatever time it takes when they notice the topic thats part of moderating if you ask me. the topic was moved before any reply was made by anyone and it wasn't from a staff member. it was a general post, even if it was in the wrong catagory. and the reply from staff still didn't give any advise.

Thats one looooooooooooooooooooong sentence! Anyway I'm happy to help as are my constituents. We have 80.000 some members VS a handful of Mods. Based on the staffs replies you have received so far I'd say you have had pretty darn good response.

Re: ugh

I am often amazed just how much volume is on this site. by the time I hit "submit" there is usually a couple of posts that are being posted at the same time and in about ten minutes the post I just made is on the second page of new posts. The staff has a lot of posts to keep track of and make sure spammers are not on the prowl, and keeping the site safe and friendly. It was probably moved so that it would see better volume from members that could take the time to answer the post in a detailed way. It takes a couple of seconds to move a post but several minutes to describe how to post a video.
Anyway its all good, I would like to see the video though!

wrong... I moved it AFTER folks told you how to do what was needed. I replied, which ttt it in general, moved it with a redirect. If you feel that was not enough, so be it.

Thanks!

no part of this thread was a question of time volunteered. my point was and is still being overlooked by all staff that has answered in this thread thus far is why a mod and/or staff member, who had the time to move a topic within minutes of its posting did not have the time to give advise on a simple matter at the time of moving. my point was/is if that person had the time too see and view the topic and subject within then a reply should have been made at the time of moving topic. if that staff person or site moderator doesn't know the answer to a simple question then thats another question to be asked, does that person need to have such privileges on the site. when regular 'registered users' are answering simple questions before staff members. keep in mind that the first nor recent reply by staff gave no advice. tho i do appreciate all the 'polite' unanswered replies by staff after the fact.

Perhaps posting in the proper forum to begin with would help your case. Moderators don't always have time to stop and reply to everything. In this case it appears it was moved to an area where you would get a quick response. Your replies and attitude concerning however is uncalled for. You post was answered within 15 minutes of it being posted. I fail to see the issue your are making this into and at this point you are trolling/getting in a pissing match with the staff. I suggest you step back and see how you are coming across before continuing to post.

Josh

Re: ugh

i'm coming across as someone not seeing staff not answering questions on how its forums work but relying on its members to do their job for them. my post was made at 6:48 my time and my 2nd reply was 6:59 after i noticed my post being moved, in that time you mean to tell me that person was/is to busy to advise? my point is if he/she can move they can answer. going by what every admin here so far has said it takes a lot of time to do what members have done. so far there have been 4 admins responding, none of which have still posted proper methods or advise on doing such things, the latest telling me 'I suggest you step back and see how you are coming across before continuing to post.'. omg, i'm now being warned of what, being deleted from a free site cause its operators fail? not to mention the fact that you guys charge to sell items amongst avid builders, for what, a cool icon? not only on here but prohibit it on facebook? a free group on a free site? give me a break.

Re: ugh

You were told in the previous posts how, as i said in my previous post. Since you are insistant upon us repeating what has been said already, here it goes.

The site does not support video hosting.

1. Go to youtube or any video hosting site of your choice.
2. Upload your video as per their specifications
3. Link the said video on this site inyour post.

As for the mods, i didn't realize someone had moved it earlier. Looking at logs you are correct..
1. You posted this in 60-66. ( this is not a 60-66) year specific thread.
2. A staff member moved it. In doing so they tried to be nice and moved it to gd, which is high traffic, hoping you would get a quick reply.
3. The said staff member has a wife and two small kid. Ie a life outside of here that does like everyone else.
4. The last admin to reply, is the site owner and has every right to tell you to step back. And yes suspension from a free site is forthcoming if you do not.
5. As for the fees you agreed to the rules when signing up. Feel free to log off anytime you choose if they bother you.
6. Facebook groups created for this site follow the rules of this site. Therefor ads go in the classified section of this site. Not really seeing your issue there.

Hope this answers all of your concerns.
