OEM or REPRO????
I have what I was told was a "painted"/NOS core support for a '72 Chevy. Does anyone know any tell-tale signs that will help me determine if it is GM or Reproduction??? I am rather certain it is a GM part but I really want to know what to look for.
Thanks! |

Re: OEM or REPRO????
I would think if you have original versus a repro the weight difference would be a dead give away. In all my experience the OEM always outweighed the reproduction, fenders, hoods, bumpers, tailgates so I would figure that a core support would probably be the same. I may be wrong though as I have never felt the difference between core supports.

Re: OEM or REPRO????
I have been told that a aftermarket one does not have (or they look very different than) these.

Re: OEM or REPRO????
^ That's the best way to tell. The reproduction part is not as peaked up (pinched). It doesn't stickup as high and is spread wider. This is a reproduction support:
