Painting/Restoring Gauge Cluster and Deluxe Side Markers
Ok guys, Honestly I searched but I think it out-witted me. I'm planning on painting my gauge cluster chrome edge and black center.
I also want to repaint the edges of my side markers. My question is: Is factory a Semi-gloss black or flat black on both? The black on both is pretty much gone so I can't go out there and compare. Opinions and answers are appreciated. Thanks Jonathan |

Are you talking about the instrument bezel? If you're going for a fresh look, I think you can get them brand new on Ebay for $26. At least that's what I got mine for.

Also, Are the gauge needles supposed to be orange or red? Im not sure I can discern the original color through all of the pics. I have a fluorescent orange model paint that I have for sights but Im fairly confident that's wrong!
Thanks Guys! |

Re: Painting/Restoring Gauge Cluster and Deluxe Side Markers
My gauge needles were all orange, my truck is a 69. I used Testors model paint, plain orange with a small detail brush. for a few hours one weekend and 8 bucks in paint a brush and a can of spray paint, this is one of my favorite fixes. After I cleaned the lens, painted the inside white, and put it all back together the gauges look brand new and the lights are twice as bright even without LEDs. Good luck with your project.
Oh ya and Be super careful masking off the chrome on the bezel, I missed a spot with the tape and painted the inside ring of the gauge trim black in a small spot, bugs me evertime I get in the cab hahahaha |
