new steelies and tires!!

Finally got some new tires and got to use my refurbished 16 x 7 steelies. Tires are cooper AT3s 235/85/16s and the wheels are ford issue. Hubcaps fit fine. I need to find 1 more of the correct style hubcaps and I will run those on the back. 3/4 ton 4x4 caps in that style seem pretty elusive and probably too rich for my blood.

Looks much better than the old gray wagon wheels and worn out mud tires, IMO.

Truck isn't much to look at yet but I plan to paint it next year.

Lookin good! You'll love those Coopers. They are relatively cheap, wear like iron and are very quiet. I have a set of ATR's on my DD with 80k on them and still have just under half tread left.

Re: new steelies and tires!!

Those look good. I'm still looking for a set of four myself. I had a friend give me two, but the holes were all hogged out. Looks like someone drove with just a couple of very loose lug nuts and messed up the wheels.

Maybe one of these days I'll wash it. Naah, I'll have to sand it off before I paint it anyway!

Re: new steelies and tires!!

They do look like they are supposed to be on there, much better than the grey wagons. Did I read correctly, they are Ford wheels? (scratchin' my head, give me the scoop)

They have a ford logo stamped into them somewhere. Other than that I think visually they are the same. Dodge steelies can also be used. here is a better view. Also handy is the fact that the wheel size is stamped on it. These were advertised as 16 x 8s.

Yep, i have the ford wheels on front, and GM wheels on the back of my truck...the 4 openings or slits are a little larger on the ford wheels and the lip is a little different, but from 10 feet you can't tell.
