Re: Radiator 1955/1959
Ok thanks but i whant to know if its fits good on a 1957 , because on another forum one guy said that the way the radiator bracket is weld on the rad it moves the radiator to the motor .
And that is not what i whant . But again i always dont take only 1 advise to make sure . |

Re: Radiator 1955/1959
55 -2 to 59 have two radiator locations. With the 6 cylinder engine it mounted directly to the radiator support. With the V8 it was moved towards the firewall about 5 inches. I kept mine in the stock 6 location and used a shroud to direct air. The fan mounts on the water pump (mine required a 1 inch spacer between the fan and wp flange) so it centers in the shroud opening. I like it because I do not have to worry about the fan hitting the radiator when the frame flexs off-road. I ran it that was from 85 to 2000 with no overheating problems (engine was a 283 with a "292" cam). This time I upgraded to a big truck radiator because I plan on doing some trailer towing. Guys that do front clip conversions have issues with the radiator crowding the engine, some end up running pusher fans with on fan on the engine.
