Re: Snow from defrost vent
I'm guessing from your location you might not see much snow.

Re: Snow from defrost vent
We use a inline heater that mounts on lower heater hose (next to the water pump inlet) on our community snow plow. Works good, get in and your ready to go!

Re: Snow from defrost vent
I brush my cowl off before I start mine. It works. A block heater will get it up to temperature faster too.

Re: Snow from defrost vent
The cowl on our trucks is a huge snow trap. You could lay a blanket across the cowl grate until the truck warms up enough.

Re: Snow from defrost vent
I was hoping someone might have built a defection shield or some kind of widget to keep it from just pulling the snow in. Even if you sweep the snow off before you turn the defrost on there is allway some that blows in and the extra moisture fogs up the windows. Man what a bummer.

Re: Snow from defrost vent
some have put window screen under the cowl to help with snow and leaves entering the area.

Re: Snow from defrost vent
My 70 GMC factory a/c truck has this flap vent in the cowel operated by a vacuum canister on the firewall. This would keep the snow out...if we had such a thing down here.

Re: Snow from defrost vent
What I would is charge admission to the interior of your truck and make a slide out each side for kids to go tubeing. Extra Christmas money.

Re: Snow from defrost vent
The AC fresh air door is a great idea. Does anyone have any ideas of how to run it on a non AC truck.I wonder if it would be posible to control it via a controle cable, like a manual choke cable?

I've had dry, broken leaves blow around but not snow....yet. I bet it looks like a snow globe, though.

Re: Snow from defrost vent
I dont know how to fix it but it even happened to me in my 92 gmc. It sucks, you try to turn on the heat and snow blows all over you.

Re: Snow from defrost vent
LMAO, sounds like I need to post a video and have some holiday music in the back ground. Next time we get the dreaded snow I will try to at least get a pic for all you folks down south. Its no fun driving with an ice scraper in one hand and a starbucks in the other.
